About Us
My vision for my company is to teach accountability and integrity, serve customers, and prove that the human touch has not completely disappeared from the business world.
ODAA, or Other Duties As Assigned, started as a corporate nickname and became a lifestyle. We empower women to find their voices after working in the corporate world and reverse the feeling that comes from being undervalued as employees.
Hi! I’m Lora
I spent over 13 years in the criminal justice arena. This opportunity provided me with a great deal of insight and knowledge. From there I moved into the world of corporate security and dispute resolution. Being tasked with helping to build and manage dispute resolution teams allowed me to gain expertise in organizing training, managing systems and people, and process implementation. Teaching accountability and integrity, serving customers and proving that the human touch was not completely gone from business has been my vision for my company. When you partner with us, we bring the “white-glove treatment” into your processes that allows you to demonstrate value to your customers.
I am the proud mother of a teenage boy (I know, that was a huge challenge), three furbabies (all rescues), a turtle (rescued), and wife to an amazing husband of 14 years. I’ve spent most of my life managing someone else’s time.
As well as advocating for the disadvantaged people, and gathering all the strays of the world.
Since I feel best when giving back I also began a life of volunteering at an early age. As an animal lover and advocate of animal rescue, we have rescued and rehomed over 150 animals. I have rehabbed aggressive dogs to help them live life with a forever family and saved them from death.
I currently volunteer with the ASPCA as a District leader, and lobbyist to help change laws for the betterment of animals, and it makes me smile when we are victorious. My family continues to enjoy wrangling our three adopted rescued pets (all foster fails). (Be careful, any given day you can hear a Pterodactyl in the form of a pitbull make her appearance on my recordings, she has a lot to say).
I started my career working with children in crisis. (work chaos started). They were primarily abused and neglected children between the ages of 0-12 who had been removed from their homes for several different reasons. They were in desperate need of a stable and supportive placement that allowed them to feel safe and grow.
This is where life-changing moments were experienced and quickly helped me realize that I was meant to be in a career of service.
I spent years building a very thick skin, a strong work ethic, and an ability to see past all the judgment of the families and just help the kids in my care. In the next phase of my career, I spent several years helping teens in residential facilities learn accountability and control. I helped to teach them that life will continue to change and that they had a relatively short time to learn everything they needed to. In total, I spent over 13 years in the criminal justice arena. This opportunity provided me with a great deal of insight and knowledge.
From there I moved into the world of corporate security and dispute resolution (you might think that it was a huge leap away from my old world, but I quickly learned that it wasn’t as different as you might think to work with adults rather than teenagers.)
Being tasked with helping to build and manage dispute resolution teams allowed me to gain expertise in organizing training, managing systems and people, and process implementation.
Though I was not serving people in a traditional sense, I was still empowered to make decisions that affected our customers and their needs. I was able to teach all my teams accountability and integrity. I could serve customers in a way that proved that the human touch was not completely gone.
After 12 years in corporate (whew!!! I made it with just a few bumps and bruises, and maybe a broken bone or two) I decided that I needed to take my skills elsewhere where I could really make a difference. Securing a position with a start-up loan company, I gained a wealth of knowledge. This experience was invaluable. It also provided the confidence that was needed to build my own business and offer a high level skill set and quality that I have been teaching for years.
I now focus on helping businesses with their systems and processes. This gives business owners time back in their day and an overall sense of relief.
My passion is helping businesses grow through the help of Virtual Assistants, and Online Business Managers.
I founded ODAA Virtual Assistant to train high-quality VAs and be able to give them the hands-on experience they needed to be able to stand above the rest. To change an employer’s mindset of what a VA is capable of and why we are such an important part of any business. I am honored to provide my clients with problem-solving and highly motivated Virtual Assistants who care about their work.
